Portable devices are often less reliable than your computer and if you leave it too long, you run the risk of a failure that wipes out your pictures. (It happened to Kathleen, and a data recovery service was unable to recover the pictures on a data card in her phone. However, the best pictures had already been copied to other devices and were thus spared. The rest were lost forever.)</p>
